UTA News:

The Utah Transit Authority (UTA) is responsible for the expansion and coverage of public transportation throughout the state of Utah—most notably through Utah and Salt Lake Counties. This includes bus routes, TRAX system, and FrontRunner stations.

In a report highlighting future plans, a FrontRunner extension will soon include a station in Payson, UT. The project has the potential to include "up to 16.6 miles of additional mainline track" (from Provo's Central Station, dow to Payson)—with a two-track terminal in Payson.

"FrontRunner is UTA’s commuter rail system. Trains [currently] run from Pleasant View to Provo along an 89-mile corridor and serve a total of 16 stations. Stations allow riders to connect to TRAX and bus routes."

The FrontRunner opened in April 2008, with the last big expansion in 2012.

Additional stations include Springville, Spanish Fork, Payson, and a potential extension into Santaquin.
